FOTD – January 11, 2022: Violets

Surprisingly, Southern California had a recent freeze warning, which caused me to quickly research the temperatures that all of my tiny, potentially susceptible outdoor plants and flowers could handle. I wanted to find out which plants had to be covered, so that they would not freeze overnight. To my surprise, violets are pretty hardy and don’t need to be covered. I found out that they are usually the flowers people plant earliest in the spring, because violets can handle colder weather before things start to warm up. So far, my research was correct — my violets are still going strong in their pot outside. I captured these violets with my iPhone 12 Pro Max for Cee’s photo challenge – Flower of the Day (FOTD).
