I found myself wandering around my local park and into this Italian-inspired garden that was planted in 1909 for the Kimberly Crest mansion. There is a very unique fruit tree in this garden; it is a strawberry tree, planted in 1909. You never know what you will find in your local park and gardens, unless you slow down and look! I am sharing photos of the tree for Cee’s photo challenge–Flower of the Day (FOTD).

I am an avid nature and ecology lover and enjoy sharing my photography in my blog writings. I will often be out early in the morning or late in the evening with my camera, trying to capture the peacefulness and beauty around me.

Very interesting and beautiful! Never knew that there was a vintage strawberry tree at Kimberly Crest! Guess I need to explore our local parks to enjoy nature thru your lens.
I like how you managed to capture the “circle of life” of the strawberry in one photo: from budding white flowers, to the promise of the orange fruit, to the ripe, red treat!

Thank you! 😊 I didn’t realize it was Italian or from 1909 until I found the sign out front. I just had to take my time and explore. 🤓

Wow!
Still ripe, even after more than 100 years 🙂

I think they’ve been taking good care of it. It’s quite a large tree compared to other strawberry trees. 😎
