Weekend Sky #58: Birthday Skies

I didn’t ask for anything this weekend, except for a little trip up the coast to an old beach town we used to visit when I was a kid. I spent three glorious days with my husband and daughter while taking photos. I managed to narrow down my photos to a few for Hammad’s Weekend Sky #58. I’ll share more photos in the coming days.

As soon as we arrived at the inn, which is situated on a cliff above the ocean, a hawk started hovering right in front of my face. He was stalking ground squirrels, who were freaking out and screeching warning sounds while trying to hide in the ice plant flowers. I took many photos, naturally.

Not to be outdone by Saturday’s sky, Sunday’s sunset was even more breath-taking (and perfect for my day).

  1. A wonderful opening photo Dawn. So good to get those great Hawk photos. Hope you had a fab birthday.
I did have to laugh though. I didn’t know that Pismo Beach was a real place as Bugs Bunny was the only person I have heard mention it before 😂

    1. Thank you! 😊 Haha…didn’t even realize about Pismo and Bugs. Makes sense…the studio he was created at is not far from there. It’s a good vacation away from the city.
