On a recent visit to the San Joaquin Marsh, I was delighted in how many birds flew right past me. This male swallow briefly stopped his zoomies to check me and my camera before rejoining the others in catching bugs around the pond. I had no idea swallows had blue on them — they all look black when they are zipping past me.

I am an avid nature and ecology lover and enjoy sharing my photography in my blog writings. I will often be out early in the morning or late in the evening with my camera, trying to capture the peacefulness and beauty around me.

What a beautiful swallow. Isn’t it lovely to spot a new bird and identify it.
(It’s a Tree Swallow – Tachycineta bicolor for those interested).
