No Gloomy Days

What is this “June Gloom” that I keep hearing about? It definitely is a bit foggier than normal down at the beach, but it is still beautiful. There’s an occasional misty day, but there is a lot of peacefulness and solitude in those types of days at the beach. Regardless of the weather, I have decided to live life to the fullest and enjoy nature, whether it’s foggy, or misty, or bright and sunny. As a bonus, the change in weather keeps things interesting.

When I moved back to Southern California, people tried to remind me that we have an impending “June Gloom”. I have seen a few foggy mornings over the last nine months, but now that we are in June, surely this June Gloom is going to appear. I guess there’s more fog this month hugging the coastal area, but I am still finding plenty of things to admire, watch, enjoy and be thankful for.

Even if there was a lot of fog, I have to be honest…it’s not going to stop me from sneaking over to the beach after work! Besides, if I had stayed home to avoid the gloomy fog that might be down at the beach, I would miss opportunities to enjoy this peaceful area.

Here’s to hoping you all have a beautiful, non-gloomy weekend! I plan on enjoying the outdoors to the fullest this weekend and look forward to sharing more with you soon. Leave a comment and share your weekend below.

  1. I don’t have any exciting adventures to share about the weekend. However, it’s not a gloomy one-that I can guarantee. Mostly, spent the weekend with friends and family. Good weekend to remember as we had a delicious lunch on Sunday. This is the first time I heard about “June gloom”. All I could see are the beautiful beach pics with the glowing sun. If you have any foggy pics, please share them with us. Just curious!
