Cellpic Sunday – January 2, 2022

Today was a very peaceful day at the beach (and not crowded — just the way I like it!). I don’t always bring my Nikon down to the beach, as I like to take in as much nature as possible without my camera-taking perfectionism kicking in. I captured these photos with my iPhone 12 Pro Max for Johnbo’s photo challenge – Cellpic Sunday.

I think my iPhone does a decent job of taking photos, but when I started seeing whale spouts (six today!) out in the distance, I was really missing my 300mm lens. I also wish I had it for the groups of brown pelicans that kept skimming the water, which can be an indicator that a whale is nearby.

I love these little sanderling birds that scurrying around the sand. I am happy to see there are still plenty left after our October oil spill.

I hope I was able to bring a bit of the peaceful beach to you all. Welcome to 2022.

I am an avid nature and ecology lover and enjoy sharing my photography in my blog writings. I will often be out early in the morning or late in the evening with my camera, trying to capture the peacefulness and beauty around me.
