FOTD – February 8, 2022: Black-crowned Night Heron in Honeysuckle

On a recent visit to the San Diego Safari Park in Escondido, California, this interesting and not-all-that-shy black-crowned night heron flew right up to the honeysuckle in front of me. Luckily, I had my 300mm DSLR out and was already taking photos of the flowers (and trying in vain to get the hummingbirds in a shot), when this heron landed and posed for me; I am sharing these lucky shots for Cee’s photo challenge – Flower of the Day (FOTD).

This heron loves the flowers; captured with 70mm DSLR lens.

I am an avid nature and ecology lover and enjoy sharing my photography in my blog writings. I will often be out early in the morning or late in the evening with my camera, trying to capture the peacefulness and beauty around me.
