Macro Monday – Purple Salvia

Reposting for Macro Monday. I hope everyone has a peaceful week! Aloha!

Just before Christmas I found red Salvia flowers. To my delight, I have also found purple Salvia flowers, or Mexican sage bush. I was able to get up close enough with my lens to see the fuzzy growth on the flowers and stems, so I thought it would be a great addition to Macro Monday as well.

Salvia leucantha flowers growing during southern California winter; captured with 300mm DSLR lens.
