This week’s Lens-Artists Challenge is hosted by Sofia of photographias, challenging us to share photos reflecting day and night. I am immediately inspired by this topic for an obvious reason. I was born at dawn…can you guess how I got my name?
I can honestly say that I am a morning person and find the mornings the most peaceful. This is first photo is my favorite picture taken at dawn. We hiked to the top of Diamond Head Crater, where I was able to capture a few shots amongst other hushed photographers and hikers during the peacefulness of the early morning.

While I wish I was in Hawaii more often, I am lucky enough to enjoy peaceful moments in California, too. This was a recent shot I snapped quickly before heading down to the crazy Thanksgiving Turkey Trot — sometimes it pays to get up early!

Then there are times when it is peaceful right after it storms. One of my favorite things to do is to walk the bluffs at Crystal Cove after a rain, especially when I can still see the rain on the horizon and the clouds play tricks with the light and dark. It is hard to tell if it is day or night, but I love the lighting effects from the storm.

I have to admit, I am still working on getting better at night photos, but some of my favorite night pictures show light reflections. This was a recent shot from our trip to Disney World.

I hope you enjoyed this week’s Lens-Artists Challenge. And whether you find days or nights more peaceful, I am glad you stopped by to check out my photos.
Dawn,
those are all WOWers. Just gorgeous
you are really going to town with your talent. Good for you. Jeanne

Dawn, you certainly live up to your namesake. The photos are striking . The Diamond Head shot is magical and was worth your time to get up there. I would enjoy the trek at the break of day as well. Amazing how calm it can be following a storm like in your Crystal Cove image.
